Women trade fair kicks off

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that government would extend full support to women entrepreneurs of the province to continue their business activities without any hurdle.

Inaugurating a two-day women trade fair on Tuesday, he said that government had constituted a committee for giving one-window facility to the businesswomen to facilitate them.

`Our government has already announced a comprehensive policy for women entrepreneurs besides giving five per cent relief in the markup on loans,` said the chief minister.

He said that government would provide 25 per cent capital to the women, who launched businesses in the province.

Besides others, Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Shamama Arbab, senior vice president Iqbal Bano, TCKP managing director Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, TDAP director Sariruddin and Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Mohammad Afzal attended the inaugural ceremony.

The chief minister said that government would participate in the road show in China in April to boost trade and investment in the province.

`The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is making strenuous efforts to create conducive environment for investment and provide maximum facilities and opportunities to the investors,` he added.

Mr Khattak said that an industrial park was being constructed on 40-kanal on motorway that would connect business centres in Afghanistan, Gwadar and other areas.

The chief minister said that government had also approved Gilgit-Chitral-Dir road from Chinese government and made it part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

Women entrepreneurs from allcitiesofKhyberPakhtunkhwa including Peshawar, Swat, Hazara, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Mardan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Chitral, Gilgit besides businesswomen from other major cities of Pakistan including Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Karachi and Islamabad would put their products on display in the fair.
