Reforms initiated in all depts, says Ghani

NOWSHERA: Adviser to the chief minister on information, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, has said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government fully supports Raddul Fasaad operation launched by the Pakistan Army against terrorists.

He was addressing the first convocation of the postgraduate college, Nowshera, here on Tuesday. Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, vice-chancellor Dr Ihsan Ali, director higher education department Prof Mohammad Roz Khan, district naib nazim Ishfaq Ahmed and principles of local colleges were also present on the occasion.

Mr Ghani said that merger of Fata with KP was essential for its development. He said that terrorists were entering into Pakistan through Fata from Afghanistan as police had no access to the tribal areas.

`The reforms process has been initiated in all the provincial departments,` he said and claimed that PTI had started development projects in the education and health sectors.

He criticised the opposition parties and said that they had failed to serve the people.

He said that a technical university in Nowshera had been established. He said that 35,000 teachers had been appointed through NTS, 15,000 new classrooms constructed and old system of education changed in the province.

Mr Ghani said that BS system had been started in 38 government colleges. He said that promotion of the college academic staff would be linked with attendance of latest trainings.

He said that the age limit had been increased for girls to get higher education. He said that the government had provided furniture for 2.1 million children in schools. He alleged that in past the governments opened universities to please vice-chancellors. He said that the PTI-led government had changed the whole education system and brought significant reforms in this regard.

`Biometric system was introduced to ensure teachers` presence in the schools. For the first time students of the government colleges and universities took distinctions in board and universities examinations in the province,` he said.

Dr Ihsan Ali congratulated the successful students and said that Nowshera postgraduate college was the first in government sector that organised its convocation. Prof Subhanullah presented the annual performance report of the college besides highlighting its problems.
