SHANGLA: Shangla police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel, in a joint operation across the district, have arrested over 200 suspected persons and seized arms and ammunition from their possession.

The action was part of the Raadul Fasaad operation going on across the country to eliminate militants and their facilitators.

According to a statement issued by district police office here on Tuesday, on the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IGP Nasir Khan Durrani, about 14 search and strike operations were conducted in different areas of the district. During the raids over 200 suspects, including 10 wanted criminals, were arrested and arms and ammunition seizedfrom them.

The statement said the seizure included four pistols, six shotguns, one SMG, and several cartridges.

The four wanted outlaws were arrested in the jurisdiction of Chawga and Chakesar police stations.

Meanwhile, in the statement DPO Rahatullah said police also registered cases against managements of schools, hotels and owners of houses for inadequate security and lack of documents of tenants. He added owners of two schools and as many hotels were booked for not taking the required security measures on their premises, while eight cases were registered against owners of houses for not maintaining proper record their tenants.

The DPO asked the people to cooperate with the police in purg-ing the region of unscrupulous elements.

FIRE BRIGADE OFFICE: A fire brigade office was inaugurated in Bisham city on Tuesday, which had been the longstanding demand of the traders.

MPA Mohammad Rashad Khan opened the fire tender. Tehsil nazim Mohammad Tahir Khan, member district council Sher Ali Khan and others were also present.

On the occasion, tehsil nazim said three fire fighters and two drivers would be present in the office round the clock. He said he had fulfilled his commitment made with the traders and local people in this regard, adding streetlights would also be installed in the city.

He also announced that sewerage system of the city would be made functional.
