IT is my privilege to extend my felicitation to the people and the government of Portugal. Every June 10th, Portugal National Day is celebrated. Portugal this day commemorates the death of Luis de Camoes, a significant figure in the history of Portugal. Camoes is best known for his work on lusiadas, the epic poem that depicts the achievements of Portugal in world exploration in the 16th century. Portugal played an important role in the discovery of the new world and their contribution to the development of the world’s social and cultural ethos is monumental.
The relationship between Portugal and Pakistan can go back to 1950, with a very strong bond of friendship when the diplomatic links were established.
The bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of political, economic and cultural spheres stands strengthened till today. Portugal is known for its art, architecture, exhilarating cuisine, environment and beautiful people. It is indeed an honour for me to represent Portugal in the province of Punjab as the Honorary Consul.
