THERE are some basic rules that every driving licence holder should know such as fast lanes are only for fast moving cars, while motorcyclists should always ride on the extreme left lane with a certain speed.
Unfortunately, these rules are totally neglected, although lanes on roads are clearly marked, especially Sharea Faisal.
Motorcyclists particularly violate law and by zigzagging between cars and riding on the fast lane with a slow speed.
This is dangerous as they not only risk their lives but those of other commuters too. A Road Traffic Injury and Prevention Centre report shows that on average over 80 people get wounded, and one of them dies, especially on Sharea Faisal.
There should be a proper monitoring of motorcyclists who do not follow traffic rules and they should be fined for everyone`s safety.
