UPPER DIR: Police here the other day arrested alleged kidnappers of a trader from Patawo area of the district.

District police officer Mian Naseeb Jan said that the kidnappers had kept the trader in their illegal custody for three days during which he was also tortured.

He said that he was shocked after knowing that the hosiery seller was badly beaten with visible marks of wounds on his body.

Mr Jan said that af ter registration of FIR they formed a special team which during a raid arrested the kidnappers and also recovered weapons, stolen money and motorcycle.

He said that one Kalashnikov, a rifle, five magazines and Rs31,000 cash was recovered from the house of alleged kidnappers. The trader thanked the police for their timely action and the arrest kidnappers. Correspondent
