SUKKUR: Former minister of state for water and power Khalid Khan Loond chaired a jirga (tribal court) in the Khalidabad area of Ghotki district on Sunday to settle a dispute over murder of an eight-year-old girl, Amna, in Shaban Lashari village near Mirpur Mathelo town some two years ago.

The jirga found Ali Raza and Meer Hassan guilty of murder and ordered them to pay a fine of Rs1.7 million to be paid to the bereaved family.

It asked the father of the girl to withdraw a murder case lodged by him at the Dad Leghari police station on payment of the fine/compensation amount.
