Non-compliance of orders Warrants for Zayed Hospital`s officials

RAHIM YAR KHAN: A civil court on Monday issued bailable arrest warrants for Sheilch Zayed Medical College Hospital principal, medical superintendent, additional medical superintendent, deputy MS (security) and cycle stand contractor for non-compliance of court orders.

The court summoned them on May 25.

Mian Shehzad, a resident of Thalli Mahatman Road, through his counsel Mian Abdul Sami had filed a writ petition with Civil Judge Masood Ahmed, stating that cycle stand contractor Bashir Ahmed installed barriers at different places on the premises of SZMCH and was forcibly receiving money from attendants of patients with the consent of the hospital administration.

The court issued a stay order against thecollection.

The complainant said despite the stay order, the contractor continued with receiving the money from patients and their attendants.

The complainant later filed a contempt petition against the SZMCH administration and the contractor.

The judge summoned the respondents but they did not appear before the court.

On Monday, the court issued bailable warrants for SZMCH Principal Dr Athar Maqbool, MS Dr Afzal Saqib, AMS Dr Abdul Wahid, DMS (Security) Muhammad Ilyas and contractor Bashir Ahmed on the contempt plea and summoned them on May 25.

When contacted, MS Dr Afzal said he did not know about the case because hospital legal adviser Farooq Wrind was at Bahawalpur bench of the Lahore High Court for some hearing.
