Gangsters kill commuter, injure three others near Bakhshapur

SUKKUR: A gang of dacoits opened fire on two vehicles near Bakhshapur town of Kandhkot-Kashmore district along the Indus Highway killing a man and wounding several other commuters on Saturday night.

It was learnt that the gangsters standing at a section of the highway signalled the commuters to stop but sensing danger they tried to dodge them.

The gangsters opened fire on the car wounding one of its occupants, Tabedin Khoso. He was taken to a hospital by other occupants of the car but succumbed to his wounds.

The car was on his way to Kashmore when it was attacked by the dacoits, the area police said.

In the other attack, three occupants of a mini-truck were wounded. They were transporting animals to a market, one of the victims told the media at the Kandhkot Civil Hospital.

The wounded victims were identified as Rafiq Ahmed Golo (driver), Azharuddin Shohriyani and Mazharuddin.

Two dacoits shot dead The Ghotki police on Sunday claimed to have gunned down two dacoits after they killed a man and wounded his companion over resistance in the Adilpur area.

The police said that the dacoits were trying to snatch the victims` motorcycle on Shahpur link road and upon resistance they resorted to firing, killing Faqeer Mohammad, son of Hafiz Ferozuddin Mahar and wounding his companion, Saifullah Mahar.

The police said they rushed to the crime scene and chased the dacoits, who fired shot at them as well.

In the ensuing encounter, two of the dacoits were killed but their associates managed to escape, the police said.

One of the dead suspects was later identified as Ghulam Mohammad alias Natho Mirani. The other suspect remained unidentified till late in the evening.

The police said that the weapons found beside their bodies were taken into custody.

Suspect killed The Sukkur police claimed to have killed a mugger while he and his associates were trying to loot a man near Majeed Malano village within the limits of the Cantonment police station on the outskirts of the district.

They said a police team rushed to the rescue of the citizen but the muggers riding a motorbike tried to speed away. In the ensuing chase, the police fired shots killing one of the fleeing muggers.

The dead suspect was identified as Imran Bulo. The police said a pistol and bullets found near his body were seized.
