LARKANA: The Pakistan Railways currently is facing difficult situation owing to economic meltdown and post-flood conditions, while the ministry is determined to tap permanent solution of the problems.

This was said by Sukkur Divisional Superintendent Mehmood-ur-Rehman Lakho while inspecting the LarkanaKotri railway tracks on Sunday.

He said that no one from BS-1 officer to chairman was getting salaries, while the number of goods trains had also been reduced. While talking to journalists, he said the railways was on board with federal government who was extending full support to make trains operational on all tracks which remained disturbed during the flood days.

During unprecedented rains and flood in last August, he said, almost half of the trains like Khushhal Khan Khatak and Bolan Mail had suspended operations and the department was confronting host of issues.

He conceded that railway track from Nawabshah to Tando Masti was severely damaged during massive floods and the service remained suspended for 25 days.
