LAHORE, July 18: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has finalised arrangements to keep model bazaars and surroundings of mosques clean and waste free during Ramazan.

For 25 model bazaars being set up in the city, more than 100 workers would be deputed to work in two shifts, a LWMC spol
Some 100 bins and 60 wheelie bins had been provided in the model bazaars to ensure that buyers could visit and shop there in a clean environment. The cleaning operations would go on from 6am to 2pm and from 2pm to 10pm. Customised waste bags would also be provided to the vendors in all bazaars. The company staff would collect the bags from approximately 1,188 shops.

Around 11,880 tons of waste would be generated everyday from these 1,188 shops and the company would be collecting and transporting it to the dumping site.
