Teachers end boycott of training

LAHORE, July 18: The Punjab Teachers Union has finally agreed to end boycott of teachers training during Ramazan and participate in the training programme from 7:30am to 11:30am.

A PTU delegation led by central president Syed Sajjad Akbar Kazmi, Rana Liaquat Ali and others met Punjab school education secretary Aslam Kamboh and agreed that teachers would participate in the training with shorter duration and those who could not travel due to health reasons would be exempted from training.

The meeting decided that teachers who wanted to sit Aitkaf would be relieved on August 9.

Mr Kamboh assured the PTU delegation that the department would not organise teacher training during Ramazan from next year.

DPI (Elementary Education) Punjab Islam Siddique and Directorate of Staff Development officials were also present.
