Mirs of Tando Mohammad Khan join PPP

HYDERABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party lawmaker Syed Navee d Qamar announced that the big guns of Tando Mohammad Khan district and the rival group of the PPP rejoined the party on Monday.

Now a new chapter was opened in the history of the district as there was no rival group of the PPP, he told journalists at a brief press conference held at his residence in Latifabad.

Mr Qamar said there had been the PPP and its rival group in the district, but now the Mir group accepted the invitation and became part of the PPP. Together they would play their role in thepolitics of Tando Mohammad Khan, he added.

He said Tando Mohammad Khan was a fort of the PPP and it would be strengthened when all lawmakers of the PPP would fully support the Mir group.

He said the Mir group had unconditionally joined the PPP and there was no give and take in this regard.

Answering a question about objection raised by the PPP over a crackdown against corruption, he said the issue was not about corruption, it (the issue) was a legal and constitutional right as the PPP reiterated that everybody must work under legal and constitutional parameters.

Mir Sajjad Ali Talpur, son of former Sindh minister and a big gun of TandoMohammad Khan Mir Aijaz Ali Talpur, said his father was a founder member of the PPP when Zulfikar Ali Bhutto founded it . `We were away from the PPP but now we will strengthen the party after joining it today. We are part of the PPP again,` he said, adding that there was no group in Tando Mohammad Khan now.

PPP marks Yaum-i-Shuhada The Hyderabad chapter of the Pakistan Peoples Party observed Yaum-i-Shuhada (martyrs day) on Monday to pay homage to the martyrs of attack on air force camp near Peshawar.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari cancelled his birthday celebrations and directed workers to observethe day across the province, according to a press release issued by the party.

Quran Khwani was held and prayers were offered for the martyrs on the day. PPP Hyderabad president Zahid Bhurgari, senior vice president Amanullah Siyal, general secretary and provincial minister Jam Khan Shoro, vice president and political assistant to Sindh chief minister Abdul Jabbar Khan and a large number of activists attended the programme.

The leaders said the countrymen were proud of the military officials and civilians who laid down their lives defending the motherland against the terrorists.

Theysaid thatPPPleaders and activists would always support armed forces.
