WE advertised for a vacancy for electronic design engineer for our organisation. In response, we received quite a few applications. About 20 candidates were shortlisted for interview on the basis of their GPA and the projects that had been listed on their CVs.
It was really shocking to know that they practically had no knowledge of the subject.
The graduates were from the universities offering electronic engineering in Karachi and a few of them had above 3.5 GPAs.
When inquired about the pathetic state of their knowledge and lack of basic concepts,their answers was that their teachers were incompetent and didn`t have command on the subject they taught.
The projects they mentioned were all copied from the Internet or provided to them by individuals who charged them for their services.
I request the Higher Education Commission to conduct a test of a batch of the graduates from each university and check their level of expertise. They will realise that these universities are just awarding degrees without imparting knowledge.
