Corruption cases against revenue, LG officials okayed

KARACHI: The Sindh anti-corruption and enquirles department on Monday gave approval to the registration of four cases against officials of the board of revenue and local government department and their arrest.

Headed by Chief Secretary Mohammad Siddique Memon, the anti-corruption committee (ACC-I) of the anti-corruption and enquiries department considered cases of nine departments namely the board of revenue, local government, public health engineering, transport, kutchi abadis, culture, social welfare, mines and planning and development.

The caretaker nazim of Bhambir UC, Garhi Yasin Taluka, Waqar Ahmed Soomro, and KDA executive engineer Amir Bhatti and Asghar Ali advocate along with three private persons would also be booked and arrested according to the decision of the anti-corruption committee. It was also decided that the role of subregistrar Zafar Baloch in corrupt practices would be investigated.

Besides, open inquiry would be initiated against Regional Transport Authority, Hyderabad, Zameer Hussain Brohi, and Kutchi Abadis Regional Director Imdad Ali Lashari.
