LAHORE, Jan 30: The provincial selection board I on Wednesday recommended promotion of 150 college teachers and 40 special cadre doctors to BS-20.

The meeting was presided over by Chief Secretary Nasir Khosa and attended by secretaries of the departments concerned.

Officials said the meeting considered promotion of 177 college teachers but allowed around 150. The promotions would be notified following an approval by the chief minister.

Sources said an officer of the provincial Wildlife Department was also allowed promotion to BS-20.

Meanwhile, the chief minister is learnt to have approved upgrading the posts of stenographers, senior stenographers and private secretaries. Sources said after a notification, officers of the three cadres would be placed a grade higher.

The federal government had already upgraded the posts and the provincial government`s decision would benefit around 4,500 officers.Staff Reporter
