OKARA: An extortionist was arrested while his two accomplices managed to escape on Thursday.

Reports said accused Shan made several calls to Raza Khalid of Hujra Shah Mugeem and demanded Rs150,000 from him or else he would be murdered.

After informing police, Khalid reached a filling station near village 56/2L to pay money to Shan who reached there along with his accomplices, Ali and Asif.

As soon as Khalid paid Rs10,000 to the extortionist, police raided there and arrested Shan while his accomplices made good their escape.

Saddar police took into custody the bike of the accused and also registered a case against them.
