SHEIKHUPURA: Several residents of the Luban Wala locality ransacked the record and furniture of a police check-post on Thursday.

Tensions flared up when the police, on a tip-off, raided the house of Nadir and recovered two kilogramme hashish from the house and arrested his wife, Shabana.

Other family members with area residents attacked the police check-post and damaged itsrecord and furniture.

The police alleged the family was involved in drug business and another woman from the family was already in the district jail.

Ferozewala police registered a case against 10 people, including Nadir, Nazeer and Shahdat.

Protesters rejected allegations, saying the police implicated the family only to mint money.
