MARDAN: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday sent 10 accused persons to jail in the lynching of a student of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.
According to police officials, the accused were presented before the ATC amid tight security, after completion of their police remand.
All the accused, however, denied charges of their involvement in the lynching of Mashal Khan on April 13.
However, the court sent all of them to central jail Mardan.
Now, the total number of suspects sent to the central jail so far has reached to 47. Two out of the total nominated 49 accused in the lynching case are still at large.
The police believe that the suspects are hiding in the tribal areas and that hectic efforts are underway to arrest them. —Correspondent
