PESHAWAR: A woman has accused her brother of 1(idnapping her two sons and another person in Mardan and demanded the provincial police chief`s intervention for the registration of FIR and release of the abductees.
Hashmat Ara told reporters at the Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday that her brother was an additional sessions judge in Mardan, who had developed differences with her in-laws over properties and therefore, he was trying to victimise her family.
She claimed that her brother had refused to negotiate despite repeated attempts by family elders.
The woman said her family was in shock at the abductions and had planned to formally stage a protest against the judge. She feared that her sons would be eliminated if the police didn`t recover them at the earliest.
The woman`s husband, Asmatullah, who was also in attendance, said his sons, includ-ing Mohammad Tariq and Mohammad Farooq, and nephew Mohammad Izhar went missing in Mardan on April 8 when they`re returning from Swabi in their car.He added that the car was later found abandoned near a government hospital in the limits of the Shaikh Maltoon police station but the whereabouts of the three people remained not known.
The man said the car was traced due to the tracker installed in it, while the picture of the `car lifter` was clearly visible in the footage but the police were reluctant to register a kidnapping case.
`We repeatedly contacted the police for theregistrationofthecasebuttheydeclined.
I am sure that the additional session judge of Mardan, who is the maternal uncle of my sons, is involved in the kidnapping as he wants us to bow down before him,` he insisted.
Mr Asmatullah said he along with wife would soon file a petition with the Peshawar High Court in a bid to secure the release of the abductees and get a case registered against the suspect.-Bureau Report
