Minor girl dies, two others injured in firing

SAHIWAL: A minor girl died and two passersby injured when a man resorted to indiscriminate fire during a quarrel between two rivals groupsat65A/GDvillageonMonday.

According to police, men of the rival groups led by Sajid and Azhar scuffled at the village`s main crossing (chowk).

Meanwhile, according to eyewitnesses, Sajid took out a pistol and opene d indi scriminate fire.

A bullet hit an 11-year-old girl Sadia who was passing by. She died on the spot.

Two other passersby Azhar and Bashiran Bibi were also injured in the firing.Noor Shah police on being informed of the incident arrived at the scene and later registered a murder case against Sajid on the complaint of Sadia`s f ather Rehmat Ali.

ACCIDENTS: Three people died and five others critically injured in differentroad accidents.

First accident occurred near 52/5-L village on Noor Shah-Gamber road in which a bicycle was hit by a speeding car. The two bike riders Muhammad Ashiq, a resident of 43/3-R village and his father Muhammad Isa were injured.

Later,Isadiedwhilebeing shifted to hospital.

Villagers identified the car driveras Hasan Ali, who fled the scene.

In another incident near 98/9-L village, Lukain Wala, Pakpattan district a motorcycle rickshaw was hit by a trailer on Sahiwal Road.

As a result, a 60-year-old woman who was in the rickshaw died on the spot while a youth, Qasim (20) was critically injured.

Rescue 1122 shifted Qasim to the district headquarters hospital.

In the third incident, two speeding motorcyclists collided on Sahiwal-Arif wala road.

As a result, Altaf, 45, died on the spot while Iqbal, Ashraf and Mushtaq were injured. Correspondent
