NGO, SBTE sign agreement to prepare skilled workforce

KARACHI: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed to prepare skilled workers and trainees for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) by providing them with trade knowledge and practical competencies, life-skills, understanding about health and safety, work ethics, etc.

The Hunar Foundation (THF), a non-profit organisationin the technical and vocational education and training sector, and the Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE) have signed the MoU at the THF Korangi Corporate Office to strengthen and promote a productive working relationship.

The institutions also agreed to formalise their collaboration and association for `professional trainings/seminars/workshops` to train, develop, and polish trainees` skills and their competencies.

The ambit of the MoU covers all the T HF institutes in Sindh, including THF Delhi Mercantile Society Technical Institute, Tariq Road; Saeeda Naseem TechnicalInstitute,Korangi; Rashid Arshad Aslam Shahid Institute of Emerging Technologies, Korangi; CentralVocationalInstitute, Saddar and THF Hajiani Ashraf Khatoon Technical Institute, Rashidabad, Tando Allahyar.

In a press release issued, THF said that it aims to train and equip underprivileged and marginalised segments of the society, while SBT E`s vision is to provide a certified skilled workforce for the economic development of Sindh and the country by providing quality assessment and well-recognised certification, and facilitate competency-based training as per employer/ industry needs.
