Gulalai`s decision

2018-06-07
AYESHA Gulalai, a former lawmaker belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf has announced her decision to field four transgender persons in July 25 general elections the ticket of her newly-formed party, PTI-Gulalai, for which she could not find some different and new name.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad along with the transgender persons who will be contesting the polls on her party tickets for national and provincial assemblies, she lamented the treatment meted out by society to transgender persons, and said she herself would be contesting the elections from six constituencies, including those where she would be opposing PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Rawalpindi and Secretary General Jahangir Tareen from Lodharan.

Apparently, she seems serious about the transgender persons but in reality is a farce designed to cause embarrassment to PTI leadership directly and indirectly.

If she is serious about remaining in politics, she should have her own identity instead of still sticking to the PTI from where she was ousted some time back after she had levelled sexual harassment allegations against the PTI chairman.
