10 booked for murder of three

FAISALABAD: Thekriwala police on Monday registered a case under anti-terrorism act and relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against 10 people, including two policemen for allegedly killing three men, one of them a traffic warden.

The three people were gunned down in Thekariwala on Sunday night over a property dispute.

In the application submitted by, Sameer Hussain, he said his brotherShabbir Hussain and others were on their way to the shrine of Baba Hussain when the prime suspect Ajmal, a police constable, his brother Afzal and their accomplices opened fire on their vehicle to stop it.

He said when Shabbir and others alighted from the vehicle, the suspects opened fire on them, leaving one of them, Adnan, dead on the spot. The two others, Shabbir and Mehmood, succumbed to their bullet wounds at the hospital.

The complainant claimed he was present at the shrine and rushed tothe spot on hearing gunshot.

He said the indiscriminate firing panicked the devotees at the shrine who rushed to take cover and also disrupted trafhcon anearbyroad.

He said the suspect Ajmal also called an Assistant Sub-Inspector Ijaz and informed him that they had completed the task given by him (Ijaz) and now he should handle the police matters.

The suspect had a property dispute with a friend of one of the victims, Mehmood, he added.

No arrest has so far been made in this case, police said.
