THIS is apropos Abu Khalid`s letter `ID cards verification` (June 4). The identity card of a country is a subject related to national security. The current CNIC re-verification drive of Nadra is also one corrective measure taken by the government in line with Pakistan`s national security needs to remove aliens from Nadra`s database.
Besides, the interior minister has ensuredthat during the CNIC reverification drive by Nadra, citizens would not suffer at any stage. It is clarified that citizens would not face hurdles during CNIC reverification.
Only those citizens would turn up at Nadra centres where tampering with their family tree (record) is established.
It is also pointed out that according to the directive of the interior minister, Nadra has been advised to deal with citizens in a most cordial and friendly manner during the CNIC re-verification drive.
Besides, Nadra would provide data registration services to senior citizens at their homes, without any hassle and trouble, according to the policy guidelines of the interior minister.
