MULTAN: Robbers shot dead two security guards of a bank and made off with a cash of Rs10 million here on Monday in Shah Rukn-iAlam Colony.

A robber and a guard were also injured in the crossfire.

Six robbers fired on security guards of MCB Bank`s General Bus Stand Branch and held the staff hostage.

One of the guards, Shahnawaz, resisted as a re-sult a suspect suffered injuries. Shahnawaz was also injured in the crossfire and shifted to Nishtar Hospital.

The robbers looted Rs10 million and managed to take away their injured accomplice.

Security guard Islamuddin was killed on the spot while his colleague Azhar Ali succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.

The suspects also opened fire on a police van that was parked near the bank. Police are yet to register a case.
