MUZAFFARGARH: A man drowned in river Chenab in Rohallanwali at Ibrahim Pattan on Sunday while trying to cross the river with the help of wooden sticks and inflated tyre tubes.
Brothers Aslam and Abu Bakar Shah were crossing the Chenab when they supped in the deep end of the river. Abu Bakar managed to save himself while Aslam was swept away by the river.
Locals contacted Rescue 1122 for help, who reached the spot but could not find Aslam till Sunday evening.
ASSISTANT PRO:District Police Officer (DPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar appointed assistant public relationship officers at each of the district`s 20 police stations who will communicate with journalists at police station level and later inform the district police officer`s public relations of ficer (PRO) about it.
There are 20 pouce stations in Muzaffargarh where for the first time these assistant PROs were being appointed to liaison between the police and public.
DPO Dogar said that the assistants had been posted to project the best image of police, adding that they would receive training in making videos and photography.
