THE death of more than 800 people in Karachi due to a heat wave aggravated by excessive loadshedding seems to have no impact on our ruling elite which is making propaganda capital from the tragedy.
Both the federal and Sindh governments seem keen to shift total responsibility for this tragedy on K-Electric to hide their own shortcomings. I am not defending K Electric as I too am affected by loadshedding. However, I oppose making it the scapegoat and absolve the real culprits who failed to take timely action toavert this tragedy.
I request the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the tragedy.
