Demos against persecution in Myanmar

OKARA: A protest demonstration was taken out against the persecution of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar here on Tuesday.

The rally, led by municipal committee chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Azhar, started from Ghausia Masjid Chowk and culminated in front of the Okara Press Club after marching through Katchery Bazaar, Chishtia Chowk, and MC Chowk.

The participants were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the government of Myanmar and the brutalities against the Muslims.

B A H A W A L P U R : Traders, civil society and journalists held a protest demonstration at University Chowk against the killings of Rohingya Muslims.

The protesters raised slogans against Myanmar leader Aung Suu Kyi and demanded that Nobel Prize should be taken back from her.

CHINIOT: A rally was taken out from the press club to Deputy Commissioner Office against the cruelties on Rohingya Muslims. Civilsociety, traders and lawyers participated in it.

Press Club President Haji Bashir Chaman; municipal committee chairman Mehr Khalid and others addressed the rally.

SAHIWAL: The District Bar Association Pakpattan observed a complete strike to show solidarity with Rohingya Muslims. Bar secretary Ghulam Mustafa and other lawyers addressed a gathering of protesters.

Thespeakersexpressed concerns over the government policy to remain silent over the genocide of so Muslims in Myanmar.

The protesters passed a resolution urging the prime minster to raise voice for Rohingya Muslims.

BAHAWALNAGAR: A rally was held against the state-sponsored brutalities being committed against Rohingya Muslims. The participants in the rally were carrying placards inscribed with their demand that the United Nations should move to protect Rohingya Muslims.
