Rainstorm wreaks havoc on Fesco installations

TOBA TEK SINGH: A strong windstorm followed by torrential rain wrealced havoc on Faisalabad Electric Supply Company`s installations as a dozen electricity poles in Arrouti feeder area near Pirmahal fell down on Monday night, suspending supply to more than 100 villages.

Traffic also remained blocked on different link roads for several hours due to fallen trees and poles. Fesco could not restore electricity till the filing of the report at 7pm.

During heavy rain, roofs of a shop and an office of a transport company collapsed in Pirmahal general bus stand as a result shop1(eeper Mukhtar Hussain was seriously wounded who was admitted to THQ hospital.

A minor child was killed while his mother injured [seriously] in a wall collapse in Kachi Basti of Kamalia.

Police said Iqbal Bibi and her two-year-old son Hamza were on their way along a street when the outer wall of house of villagerMukhtar Ahmad suddenly fell on them. Doctors at Kamalia THQ hospital referred both to Faisalabad Allied hospital where Hamza succumbed to his injuries while his mother was stated to be critical.

A couple and their minor son were injured seriously when their motorcycle skidded on the wet Toba-Rajana Road.

Tahir, his wife Sajida and son Ayan met with an accident on their way to Toba from their Chak 517 GB. They were admitted to DHQ hospital.

ACCIDENT: A youth was killed and his brother injured in an accident at Gojra.

Police said Raheel and Ahad of Chak 160 GB Kaleki were on their way to Gojra on their motorcycle when it collided with another bike on Gojra-Moongi Road. In the meantime, a private school`s bus ran over them as a result both were critically wounded.

Doctors at Gojra THQ hospital had referred them to Faisalabad Allied hospital where Raheel succumbed to his injuries while Ahad was said to be stable.
