THE country heaved a sigh of relief when the army initiated Operation Zarb-i-Azb, and the terrorist attacks were reduced in number. However, the deadly suicide blast on Wagah border, which claimed more than 60 lives and left more than 70 injured, reminds us of the countless lives lost earlier.
This attack was not only a retaliation against the army operation, it was planned on a Sunday when visitors to the popular flag lowering ceremony is at a maximum.
The border is the only road crossingbetween Pakistan and India and it is also an important trade facility where truckloads of goods coming from and going to India are loaded and unloaded.
Pakistan should divert all its resources and intensify the military operation against the perpetrators who are constantly trying to tarnish the image of our country.
