Case against three teachers in student death case

VEHARI: Police registered a case against three teachers of the chak-190/EB public elementary school on Thursday for the death of a grade eight student, allegedly due to torture in school.

Police registered the case against headmaster Abdul Razag and teachers Nabeel and Munaza Dilshad.

According to a press release by the police, District Police Officer Umer Saed Malik had formed a team to arrest the accused. So f ar, Razag had been arrested.

The case was registered on the application of Muhammad Riaz, father of deceased Abrar Ahmed, who was allegedly tortured by Munaza and Nabeel on Monday for not doing his homework. He died at hospital on Wednesday.

Police said that autopsy report had been sent to the forensic lab for further examination.LAPTOPS: Provincial Minster for Education Rana Mashhood distributed laptops to students at a ceremony at the Vehari gymnasium hall.

He said that in the light of the educational vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, development of the country is being ensured through the provision of necessary f acilities to the public.

He said his department had proved its commitment to the sector by allocating 30 percent of the budget for education.

Laptop was distributed among 1,169 students.
