New political system

2016-02-26
PAKISTAN needs a new political system as the parliamentary system has failed to serve the majority of the people. Our democracy serves and protects the interest of the rich only.

I would suggest Pakistan should at least have 10 administrative units, each with 20m people, who should directly elect their own chief ministers and deputy chief ministers.

Each province should have at least 10 districts governed by elected nazims and deputy nazims, along with 50 members of each district council, who must have financial and administrative powers. All civic matters, law and order, education, health, sports and culture land management should be under the local government.

The federal government should be headed by the prime minister and the deputy prime minister elected directly by the people. The national assembly should have 200 members, 20 members from each province. Its responsibility should be to frame laws for the country. All elections should be held on the basis of proportional representation. The tenure of all governments should be for four years.
