Schools told to sensitise students to coronavirus

MUZAFFARGARH: The Punjab Education School Monitoring Wing has directed all chief executive officers and other education officials to start awareness raising sessions in schools to educate children on coronavirus.

The wing said in a circular that all chief executive officers of district education authorities would ensure display of banners inscribed with precautionary directions in all schools, public and private, at prominent places regardingcoronavirus.

`Teachers and head of schools shall also sensitize students during class sessions about the importance of cleaning hands with soap and covering nose andmouthwithtissuesorelbow during flex coughing or sneezing so as to minimize the risk or infection,` read the circular. On Saturday, many schools started awareness activities.

PASS OUT: Six people of a family passed out late on Friday when they ate toxic yogurt at home here.

The family of Khadim Husain ate yogurt bought from a city shop. Their neighbours contacted Rescue 1122 for help.

They were shifted to the Muzaffargarh District Headquarters Hospital for treatment where they were under treatment. Punjab Food Authority officials collected samples from the house for lab examination.
