SIALKOT: A protest demonstration was held at Sambrial against the municipal committee for its failure to rectify sewerage choked for the last several months.

The protesters told the media that all the streets and roads in Sambrial were lying inundated with sewage and the of ficials concerned ignored the situation.

They said the ongoing rains were also making the situation worse and lamented that the people, especially the schoolchildren, find it difficult while passing through the streets. They complained that sewerage had been lying clogged for the last several months.

When contacted, the officials concerned said orders had been issued for rectification of theclogged sewerage on an emergency basis. The social, business and political circles, also expressed grave concerns at this critical situation. They demanded Deputy Commissioner Dr Nasir Mehmood Bashir take notice of this situation.

KILLED: Four armed motorcyclists gunned down a youth over old enmity at village Thakraa Mahey-Begowala of Sambrial.

The suspects fled by firing into the air after killing the victim, identified as Fiasal Shehzad.

Police have registered a murder case against the suspects, including Asad and Naseer, with no arrest.

WALK: A large number of doctors, paramedics and patients` attendants participated in an awareness walk for coronavirus on the premises of the Daska Civil Hospital.

The participants were carryingbanners, flexes and placards.

On the occasion, the doctors stressed the need for making sincere individual and collective efforts to promote awareness about coronavirus. They said preventive and precautionary measures could help avert coronavirus.

They also stressed the need for giving lectures to create awareness about the students in all schools, colleges and universities.

SHAIKH AL-SHAIBI: The key holder of Khaana Kaaba Shaikh Dr Abdul Rehman Al-Shaibi participated in Mehfil-i-Milad on the third day of his five-day long visit to Sialkot.

He prayed for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and freedom of Palestine and held Kashmir.

Shaikh Al-Shaibi is on a visit to Sialkot till March 2 and leading exporters of the4 city are hosting him.
